Just not the same
For $0.99, it does have some entertainment value (if youre looking for a festive app, or have grown tired of the excellent Angry Birds). I have no idea what the previous reviewer means about "strategic", however: you touch your screen once to freeze the ball into position, then tap again to determine the direction in which the balls going to roll. In both cases, the controls are a little off, and the elves tumble before the ball even arrives. But whats worse... No altering speed, no surprise visits from reindeer or the like, and absolutely no snarkiness from the elves. The "shock" value was what kept my friends and I playing the game at our Christmas party, and which prompted me to buy a Elf Bowling Tshirt from original company NStorm: what were the elves going to say next? Did one elfs head really come off at times? And _could_ you _really_ knock Rudolph out with a well-placed gutterball? The whole humour is gone. Here, it just looks like Santa is attacking a swarm of cute and cuddly elves. One of their comments, "Why, Santa, Why?" says it all.
Its different from Elf Bowling, but maybe thats a good thing
I know I remember Elf Bowling fondly, but I also know it wasnt the best game by any stretch of the imagination. While this game isnt completely fine tuned yet, So far it looks far better than Elf Bowling and is also abit more in depth. My kids love it and thats what I think this game is made for anyway. A nice variety in the elves and the sounds. Dont over think it, and its a nice time!
